SITE MANAGEMENT SAFETY TRAINING SCHEME (SMSTS)

Introduction:

The SMSTS course is a high quality training course for the construction industry. Aimed at site managers, agents and supervisors, the Scheme gives a thorough understanding of the key health and safety issues on site. It will help them to develop a better understanding of their moral and social responsibilities, as well as giving the skills and knowledge needed to manage health and safety on site, in compliance with legislation.

Objectives:

To provide site managers, agents and supervisors with the knowledge and understanding needed to enable them to manage health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions and within the context of their management and supervisor roles.

Duration:

5 days, either block or day release

NOTE: On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive certification from CITB, which is valid for 5 years.

Employers can claim a CITB grant to offset the cost of employees attending eligible training courses. However, employers must be in scope and registered with CITB-Construction Skills at the time of training.
